Biodiversity: The Spice of Life

Biodiversity is essentially the diversity of species on our planet. Climate changes have massive effects on this diversity, many of which are long term and potentially harmful. Most people are aware of nature and how important it is to conserve it. However, it's maintenance is often pushed aside to make room for profit or short term benefit of humans. As most species depend upon one another, it is important to look out for all elements of nature, no matter how small. According to greenfacts.org, population changes can also affect our biodiversity. "Over the last 40 years our planet's population has doubled which has caused pressure on ecosystems through the city dweller's demand for more food and energy" (http://www.greenfacts.org/en/biodiversity/l-2/4-causes-desertification.htm#0).

I will add more to this and encourage others to converse or comment to increase awareness on the topic.
